Why this site

I’m making this site to explain, in the clearest and most positive way possible, what’s happening to me — what quite a few people call « gangstalking ».

It’s the site I would’ve loved to find when I was looking for info on gangstalking, to reassure myself and save me a lot of stress and sleepless nights. I think this needs to be normalized, so we can understand it better.

I think this solution is the healthiest one.

I’m going to use this site to explain what’s happening to me to the people close to me. And I invite you to do the same if this is happening to you too. Nice to read, with loads of images, and way more positive than the sites that talk about government, conspiracies, etc

I’ve got loads of stuff to tell, things that happened, but also thoughts and stuff that happens to me day to day.

I won’t be able to post everything at once, so I’m doing it little by little, and not even in chronological order.

Since I’m a dev, I figured I’d make a site, with illustrations, and that each time I put out a « new episode », it would take the form of a new version in the changelog, with each change.

David, the central figure in this story

I use my image to explain what’s happening to me, but this happens to a lot of people.

It’s not easy to talk about this phenomenon without using images, otherwise it gets very unreadable and incomprehensible very quickly.

I’m not claiming to understand 100% what’s happening to me, but I’m the best placed person to talk about it.

I may end up writing things that could surprise, or even shock, people. If that’s the case, the best thing is to stay open-minded and kind : I’m clumsy sometimes.

I think it’s important to avoid jumping to conclusions.

I tell myself some people might recognize themselves and identify more easily if I act as a « single point of contact », to start with.

You have to be very, very open-minded. Zero fiction, even if it looks like it. I’ve worn my loved ones out with this story that I call indefinable.

Google Trends screenshot of the gangstalking search

“Gangstalking” is a term whose search is constantly growing on Google Trends. As you can see here.(opens a new tab)

I think this is not new at all, not contemporary either. It’s a relatively new term to talk about something that has always existed.

There are even documents talking about this on the official United Nations website(opens a new tab).

A never-ending game of Guess Who?

I get the feeling that since 2020/2021, my life looked like a never-ending game of « Guess Who? » until early 2026 more or less. It started with « French neighbours » even though I live in Rio and I’m a React dev working fully remote, who seemed to provoke me every day but whom I could never find, because they always seemed to be one step ahead…

Investigation board with red strings linking the clues

…It kept getting bigger and bigger every time. It didn’t stop even after we moved to the other side of Copacabana.

A hidden camera filming all the time

I felt like I was in a prank that never ends, kind of like the confused John Travolta meme in Pulp Fiction.

Scooby-Doo and the gang unmasking the phenomenon

After thinking about it for very very very long, several years, I’m coming to the healthiest conclusion, which is that it’s the phenomenon behind religions.

Well I have to admit they gave me a few nudges, otherwise I could have ruined my life and spent dozens of years torturing my own brain.

I hear voices of people I didn't know in real life, I think. Men, women, young people, adults, older people, some whose voice I hear regularly became familiar and others who make more occasional interventions.

One day in March 2022, I remember there was even one of them who had a Marseille accent. That was back when I still thought they were French expat neighbours in Copacabana.

An intimacy invaded, even in the toilets

At first, and for a long time, I took it badly, because I felt violated in my private life.

I'd told myself: « Purée, even when I'm in the toilet these neighbours won't leave me alone. » It was 2 young people talking to each other.

And partly because of that I was living the experience badly, and I wasn't the only one from the accounts you can see on the internet.

A wall of hypotheses and theories considered

I looked for a long time, I considered loads of theories and possibilities. I overthought like crazy.

Like a lot of people on the internet who say they're victims of « gangstalking », I went through a lot of similar things: huge trouble sleeping at night because I could hear them constantly « provoking » me, I felt attacked by the things I heard, which were surgical. I didn't understand how it was possible that these « neighbours » were always one step ahead.

Border collies herding a flock, like a guided stream of thoughts

Since they know everything that's going on in my head, my emotions, what I'm thinking at any given moment, before I can even put words to my thoughts, they're also able to guide my stream of thoughts with stimuli connected or not to my current stream of thoughts, a bit like spiritual border collies.

The phenomenon, the best theory considered

The best theory is that it's the phenomenon mentioned in religions, among other things. No need to overthink anymore, and on top of that, I realised they're well-intentioned and straight. But they seem to challenge me pretty regularly to see if I still doubt.

Schematic representation of consciousness at a given moment

I thought I'd adopt the following convention to represent my consciousness/mind at a given moment.

Thinking is speaking

Actually, it took me a while to understand, but I realised that with them, thinking is speaking. Sometimes I think about everyday stuff or I talk with my little voice without opening my mouth, and several times, I've already heard a woman say « Are you even listening to yourself speak? »

But anyway it's funny, it changes everything, this way of communicating, in everyday life we never reveal our taboos, our fears, our shame like that to just anyone. Let's do a little experiment: take a few seconds to remember the most + cringe/embarrassing thing you did in your life… Well done, you just confessed it.

For them, knowing what I'm thinking is trivial. And it's not just words via my little voice, it's EVERYTHING. An image I imagine, my emotions, etc. And even my dreams! Sometimes they make me dream incredible stuff! They always find a way to surprise me!

A single mind playing all the roles in the show

From the moment I really understood that these people could know what I was thinking, I think that was in 2025. At the time, I still thought I was dealing with a group of powerful French-speaking friends, expatriates in Rio de Janeiro, who had it in for me because I would have somehow « fallen out » with one of their friends without realising it.

I took it badly because they were « violating my privacy », but on the other hand I remember telling myself I wasn't going to let myself be intimidated. So I thought horrible things, like « It's private here! You just need to stop! » Or else I tried to ask them questions like « Why are you doing this? »

But since there was nothing I could do, the situation didn't stop, so sometimes I started cracking jokes. Since I was trying to figure out who it could be, I'd say for example: « Wasn't it that blonde over there? The silicone bimbo? At least she mustn't scratch the dishes. »

I had already crossed paths with a blonde in the old building, and I was keeping a hugeeeeeee list of "suspects" in my head

I honestly think I'm really going to come across as a beauf with that joke, I'm not like that in real life. it sounds a bit cringe said like that but that was my way of coping with the "gangstalkers" back then.

Professors who give an exercise without giving the answer

They’re not the type to give you the answer, like when a teacher gives you an exercise at school

At the same time, I hear «otherwise it’s not funny» in the voice of a child or a woman.

They can say something and then the opposite. It makes me realize that words have the value we give them, not just the words, even all concepts themselves.

I know I’m on the right path because the experience is more pleasant. Pretty great, right? Before, when I was going through it badly, any psychiatrist or psychologist I might have seen would’ve given me heavy treatment (and it happened several times, I’ll talk about it). But now that I’m living it well, it’s just way cool! Positive positive symptoms, that’s pretty great, right?

No reason to want it to stop

A bottomless rabbit hole, like rabbit holes of internet research

I’ve always wondered if there was extraterrestrial life, I pictured aliens landing in a spaceship. But before I’d never thought about the consequences of not being at the top of the intellectual food chain.

A family can watch one rabbit giving another a massage, without it being obscene for the kids and without the rabbits feeling violated in their privacy. I don’t just believe it, I’m now 1000% convinced that the same thing that happens to those rabbits also happens to us. But at a more advanced level and much deeper inside us. It’s not a big deal at all, it’s just normal.

An illustration about religions and the phenomenon

I’m not saying it’s aliens behind the phenomenon [even though sometimes I start imagining that there might exist beings with a level of development and understanding of the universe so insanely advanced that they could do such crazy stuff we’d feel forced to consider them divine beings], although by digging around online I ended up going down rabbit holes about encounters with aliens who communicated telepathically, but just in case: ouroboros (see below). What’s sure is that this isn’t new.

In the Bible and the Quran (I haven’t read either, just bits on Google and ChatGPT) for example, they refer to important figures who communicated by thought or received revelations from people. Same thing in Buddhism, there’s Yogi Milarepa(opens a new tab), who went through things that would be similar to what we now call gangstalking.

It turns out that in these three religions I used as examples, the overall message is: «respect others, be honest, peace, kindness, etc.»

I get the impression that religious texts explain how to communicate and have good relationships with these smart folks and make sure the whole thing goes well and feels good. And as a bonus, when we do that, I get the impression our day-to-day life gets more pleasant.

A spiritual rabbit, as if it too were concerned by the phenomenon

Based on my research on gangstalking, it happens all over the world: Brazil, France, USA, India, Thailand, etc.

But then I’m like, what if it also happens to other living beings?

A spiritual plant, as if it too were concerned by the phenomenon

Or even all living beings? I think I’m going too far, ouroboros.

An analogy about flying and private property

To make the analogy, if one day there were a way to get around by flying, very safely, and that was as accessible as a car or a bike, it would change a lot of things about the notion of private property.

It would shift the paradigm a bit: current architecture and urban planning are designed for 2D movement. A 3D way of getting around would make part of what we currently consider private property obsolete.

That’s how I see what’s happening to me: no reason to fight these people who can see what I’m thinking, make me think of stuff, talk with me, influence my perception of reality, make me dream things, etc. From their point of view, what’s going on in my head isn’t private property, and that’s no big deal! I think it’s pretty cool.

It’s funny that this happens to me because I’m super skeptical by default, I didn’t believe in astrology, superstitions, religions, etc. But I had to face the facts, after years spent trying to understand who these people are, there really is something there!

A cross-multiplication analogy for not getting it

In the same way that the concept of using a laptop goes completely over a dog’s head, I think there’s something that goes completely over our heads too. Some kind of cross product of not getting it.

But it’s weird, because us humans I feel like we can understand quite a lot of stuff by making analogies and all that. And I get the feeling the people in the phenomenon, even though they seem like they’re always one step ahead, do info warfare / disinformation with loads of contradictory info.

It’s like they don’t want us to get it, or whatever.

An illustration about progress and things that seem impossible before becoming normal

In the Middle Ages, people used to do bloodletting to treat some of the diseases we treat differently these days, and that seems completely bonkers to us.

In 1900, nobody knew that one day we’d have airports with hundreds of boarding gates and free meals on long-haul flights. And yet people must’ve been thinking about it, since birds travel like that.

In 1997, a computing power now contained in an iPhone 17 Pro required a 150 m² supercomputer.

In 2026, Meta open-sourced AI models to know what someone is thinking in text form with relatively good accuracy. While knowing that that’s the best we can do so far, and the worst we’ll be able to do from mid-2026 onwards.

I’m not saying the nature of the phenomenon is technological, I don’t think so

In 2056, I’m sure kids will look at 2026 and think it’s completely has-been and outdated.

All that to say you can’t say what I’m saying isn’t possible.

Who knows what will be openly recognized as possible to do in the future? Is there a limit to understanding the universe, or even EVERYTHING?

All the more so since hearing voices/persons, dreams, people who know what we can think, seeing images, that’s a thing you find in super old religious texts.

So it’s not just a modern conspiracy nut thing. And yet a lot of people talking about gangstalking get deeper and deeper into MK Ultra, deepstate, etc. theories, even me until not that long ago. Anyway.

An illustration about taboos

It’s hard to talk about this because of the taboos and the shame. On one hand, I can get it, stuff like that defies logic/common sense and we’re not able to explain it.

And yet I feel like it’s not normal because common opinion says it’s not normal. If we said it was normal, that it happens, then it could be seen in a more + positive way and we’d look less to retreat into medication solutions as if it were a health problem. I don’t see how an antipsychotic could fight infused science, because sometimes I’ve heard them talking about stuff I didn’t know.

An illustration about an inner experience clearer than a word salad

I don’t hear voices like it’s a word salad, I hear people talking sometimes among themselves, like coworkers or friends would, sometimes with me, sometimes I hear one of them say word for word what I’m thinking (I call that the le retour studio).

It’s not like the schizophrenia simulators you can find on YouTube where you hear voices whispering incomprehensible gibberish. There it’s generally personal, tied to what I’m thinking at a given moment, or even on adjacent subjects but not only that, I get the impression I’m dealing with extroverts who are pros at think-outside-the-box, who try to surprise me day to day (and honestly, I find that pleasant), always innovating to grab my attention/create intrigue and set off thoughts and emotions I could get lost in.

A seed planted in a brain

They regularly say surprising stuff, like they were planting seeds in my head from time to time. In the sense that in the moment, I’m like "Why did she say that?" without really getting it, and then I keep living my life, and then one day I end up in a situation that reminds me one of them had said something related, and I can think about it a bit.

It’s not just words, sometimes it’s impulses, images in my imagination, "clumsy" mistakes sometimes, thoughts that don’t seem to be mine or that would come from my subconscious.

I’m aware that it’s tempting to say it’s all simple, that it’s just a personification of my subconscious/unconscious and that I’m delusional but I think that’s a gross mistake. I think that to fully appreciate the phenomenon you have to appreciate the subtlety, of external things that intertwine with things internal to myself.

Illustration coming soon

Because since I became aware that what’s happening to me is linked to what I identify as the phenomenon mentioned in religions and that what’s going on in my head is not a 100% private property and that therefore I have to pay attention to what I think and clean house mentally, it’s improved massively to the point where I experience it in a very positive way, like I was privileged.

So I got into the habit of asking myself why I think what I think, that’s what they apparently call metacognition.
